Kyoto/Osaka to Shirakawago, Takayama, Nakasendo

Visiting attractive destinations in central Japan

We offer customizable tours conveniently tailored to each traveler’s needs for those departing from Osaka and Kyoto. Shirakawa-go, Takayama, and Nakasendo (Magome and Tsumago), which are popular among travelers, are not well served by public transportation, making it difficult to tour them efficiently.

Starting from Gifu Hashima Station

Our tour stars from Gifu Hashima Station. This station is just before Nagoya if you take the Shinkansen from Kyoto or Osaka. The Kodama and Hikari trains stop here, but the Nozomi does not. Although unknown to travelers, this station is conveniently located near a highway interchange. Also, few people get on and off at the station, making it a very convenient place to meet your guide or to get in and out of your car.

However, in order to participate in this tour, everyone must come to Gifu Hashima Station from Osaka or Kyoto by taking the Shinkansen yourselves. To reduce the burden on the driver, we do not provide pick-up service in Osaka or Kyoto.

Duration of the tour

The time required for a tour is typically two or three days. Of course, if you prefer to spend a little more time, we can arrange a longer itinerary.

Tour Capacity

Our car is an 8-seater, so it can accommodate up to 7 passengers. However, in that case, there is no space for luggage. If you are traveling with luggage, the maximum number of passengers is 5.

The tour price is per group, so it does not change depending on the number of people in your group.

Your accommodation

Please make your own reservations for places to stay in Takayama and elsewhere. We do not prepare accommodations in advance, as preferences and budgets vary greatly from client to client.

Many of our guests wish to stay overnight in Shirakawa-go. While not impossible, reservations are difficult due to the limited number of inns and rooms available.

If you stay at a minshuku in Magome or Tsumago, be sure to reserve dinner at the inn. Many of the restaurants in these places are not open for dinner.
