Kyoto is not very far from Nagoya. If you take Shinkansen Nozomi Superexpress, it takes only 36 minutes from Nagoya Station to Kyoto Station. Local people in Nagoya also make a day trip to Kyoto. So, if you are in Nagoya, and still want to visit Kyoto, it's quite easy!
However, public transportaion is very complicated in Kyoto. To go around major touristic places, please consider to take a guide. So that you can make a Kyoto trip very efficiently.

Fushimi-Inari Shrine
This is chosen as No1 popular sightseeing spot in 2014-2018 by foreign tourists on Trip Advisor site. “Senbon-Torii” more than thousands red torii welcome you.Fushimi-Inari Shrine is the headquarters of the 40,000 Inari shrines nationwide. It is the center for the belief in spiritual benefits.
During the New Year season, Fushimi-Inari shrine is the most popular destination in the Kansai area.

Kiyomizu Temple
This temple predates the foundation of Kyoto and has had millions of pilgrims ever since. It is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site with over 30 structures, including a huge wooden veranda in front of the main hall that juts out over the cliff and provides you a panoramic view of Kyoto.There is a famous expression: that states “You must jump off the stage of Kiyomizu.” It means that you should take the plunge to make your dreams come true.

Kinkaku-ji Temple (Golden Pavilion)
One of the Japan’s most famous sight, Rokuonji Temple is better known as Kinkaku-ji Temple, or the Golden Pavilion, because of its dazzling gold-covered main hall, that seems to float above the surrounding pond.The three-storied pavilion is covered in gold leaves and features a bronze phoenix on top of the roof.
The mirror-like reflection of the temple in the pond is extremely photogenic, especially with-snow landscape in winter is awesome!
It is one of the UNESCO Cultural Heritage site.
